Daddy cool drink, fried chicken with mashed potato and jalapeño slaw were amazing! Fried tofu too!

Best fried chicken I’ve ever had! Extremely fast/friendly service. Such great atmosphere and lighting. Very unique and worth trying

This place is a home run from drinks (super NA choices - you really should try the Violet Beauregard), small plates, dinners (outstanding curry for a vegan option) to desserts (seasonal take on strawberry shortcake that included a basil coulis) & coffee. Flavors are deliciously balanced and unique. The atmosphere is comfortably a mix of mill & modern. The service is personable and attentive. My first visit here landed it in my new fav rotation. I brought my husband here for a birthday dinner (and our first time at Calico) and we discovered our definitive local special occasion spot. The cocktails were exceptional and inventive (especially the Bitter Mistress). Not only were the fried chicken, collards, jalapeno coleslaw, and blackened cobia outstanding, but my husband (a southerner) had come to Calico expecting Southern food poorly reinterpreted in New England and was instead totally impressed! I know Calico’s menu changes seasonally, but the sweet potato and chickpea pakoras were actually the best vegetarian dish we’ve ever had and we hope to enjoy them again in the future! We enjoyed ourselves so well that we stayed for dessert. My only quibble is that the “Mango Sticky Rice Sundae” with “horchata ice cream, glazed mango, coconut sesame granola” did not clearly indicate on the menu that the “sticky rice” was represented by the horchata [rice milk] ice cream, as our server explained after I’d eaten half of it—being a literal reader, I expected sweet sticky rice in my dessert and was disappointed to miss it. But that won’t stop us from coming back, because this was still one of the top 5 meals of our lifetimes. Highly recommended.

We moved to the area a few years ago from Greater Boston. We truly love this area but it was challenge to find restaurants of similar quality to those around our previous home. Don’t get me wrong, there are lots of great places to eat in the Pioneer Valley but we were having trouble finding any that when you took that first bite, you just said “Wow.” Then we found Calico. Everything they make is amazing. The owner is always there making sure everything is on track including great service. The only thing to be aware of is that the menu has a very limited number of items. My dad was a restaurateur and said that was the sign of a great restaurant (he was sure right in this case) but if you have a limited pallet you may want to check the menu before you go. And yes, the chicken is life-altering

After countless recommendations, I finally visited Calico, and wow, it lived up to the hype! The fried chicken was a standout with its crispy exterior and juicy meat, perfectly paired with the jalapeño slaw. And those mashed potatoes? Velvety heaven. A must-visit!

I have been trying to go here since it was known as Coco &the Cellar Bar but unfortunately never made it in. I was very pleased to finally experience the food and drinks in what is now known as Calico! Huge foodie here. I was beyond impressed with the Mushroom Ramen so much so I forgot I had gotten a cocktail with my meal! And don't even get me started on dessert, we had a Lychee Crème Brûleé. Everything was out of this world. I plan on trying their award winning fried Chicken next time I'm in! 3

I don't normally assign 5 stars to something, but it was a great experience. The food was fantastic, great balance in seasoning and everything was well prepared and cooked well. The serve was on point and food came out so quickly. Great cocktails, and a nice cozy restaurant environment. My only complaint is that I couldn't buy a bag of the furikake Chex mix
